William H. Perucki, MD, FACC, FHRS

Dr. William Perucki

Dr. Perucki is a Connecticut native who attended the University of Connecticut where he graduated in 2004 with a BA in Business Administration. He worked for six years in the field of finance and accounting and then decided to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming a physician. Proud of his Polish heritage, he chose to attend medical school at Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow, Poland. Founded in 1364, it is one of the oldest medical faculties in the world and offered Dr. Perucki a unique perspective of how medicine is practiced outside the United States. He graduated in 2014 and returned to Connecticut where he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Connecticut. He was chosen by faculty and his peers to serve as Chief Resident in 2017. During his residency, he was awarded the Hartford Hospital Team of the Year Rover Award in 2017 and the Hartford Hospital Ambulatory Care Award from 2016-2017.

Dr. Perucki completed his cardiology fellowship at Hartford Hospital, and was again chosen by faculty and his peers to serve as Chief Fellow in his final year. He went on to complete an additional fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, and Cardiac Computed Tomography. He is widely published and has presented at conferences both nationally and internationally.

As an electrophysiologist, Dr. Perucki brings a unique set of skills to Consulting Cardiologists. He is an expert at diagnosing and treating issues of the heart’s electrical system. Using both non-invasive and minimally invasive techniques, he performs testing of the electrical system of the heart to determine the best treatment, which can be either a medication or procedure. Procedures may include implanting a pacemaker or defibrillator to maintain a natural heart rhythm or performing a catheter-based radiofrequency ablation to eliminate abnormal heart rhythm.

Dr. Perucki will work closely with all members of the Consulting Cardiologists team, who will refer patients to him who appear at risk or require treatment for heart rhythm abnormalities. Dr. Perucki is fluent in Polish and proficient in Spanish. He will see patients in Glastonbury, Wallingford, Avon, and Cheshire starting in August of 2023.
