Welcome to Our New Cardiologists

We are pleased to have two outstanding physicians join the Consulting Cardiologists team. They come from leading academic institutions and bring a wealth of experience. We are now scheduling visits with both doctors for August in Glastonbury, Wallingford, Manchester, and Avon.

Dr. Norman J. Roth

Dr. Roth grew up in Connecticut. He attended the College of the Holy Cross where he received his Bachelor of Arts in economics and pre-med. He played Division I baseball for four years where he balanced his rigorous academics with a competitive sports schedule. He received a Master of Science from New York Medical College and then went on to pursue his medical degree at the same institution. He did his residency and fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center/ Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He was a recipient of their Outstanding House Officer in Internal Medicine Award and Teaching Fellow of the Year Award.

Dr. Roth is pleased to return to Connecticut and begin his career in private practice this summer. He is thrilled to join Consulting Cardiologists, which shares his philosophy of personalized patient care.

Dr. David Jay Altszuler

Dr. Altszuler grew up in central New Jersey where he solidified his passion for medicine as a volunteer emergency medical technician starting at age seventeen. He attended Brandeis University as a dual History and Biology major. While at Brandeis he served as the Clinical Supervisor and Director of Operations of the student-run ambulance service. He was also a member of the varsity sailing team (Division 1). He went to medical school at New York University School of Medicine.

Dr. Altszuler completed training in internal medicine at NYU/Bellevue and was selected as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine. He remained at NYU/Bellevue for his specialty training in cardiology.  During his training, Dr. Altszuler was recognized for clinical excellence and was actively involved in scholarly activity, which included leading a study evaluating methods of using electrocardiography to identify certain congenital cardiac lesions (ASD or PFO).

Dr. Altszuler joins us this summer and is pleased to become part of an outstanding group of colleagues.  He looks forward to building a thriving cardiology practice and helping patients face issues that span the full spectrum of cardiovascular disease.
